Well Women Franklin is an organisation set up to assist women  who are experiencing or who are at risk of experiencing Ante and Post Natal  Depression and/or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after childbirth. We also  offer help to women who may suffer from other mental health disorders that may  be exacerbated by pregnancy or motherhood, for example anxiety disorders

Well Women is a peer support group who meet weekly in a  central Pukekohe venue. Our trained facilitators meet with the mothers. The group offers a safe environment for mothers to be with  other mothers who may be experiencing similar feelings.  There is no obligation to join in with the conversation or attend every week.  It is  entirely up to the mother how much they share or attend. Often being with other  mothers who are experiencing similar feelings is a huge relieve to mothers who  may not have been able to discuss their feelings with anybody else.

Free child care is also provided by two lovely mothers who  volunteer their time to provide a safe, enjoyable time for children who come  along with their mothers.

You do not need a referral from your doctor or health  professional to attend Well Women.  We do  however encourage women to visit their GP or health provider for a medical  check up if you think you may be experiencing PND or anxiety.

You can contact Well Women Franklin via phone, email or website and someone will contact you to talk more about our group and how we  can assist you.

We also provide free 24 hour telephone support. Jane Fausett, one of our facilitators, is our telephone support person.
